Shred A Thon

Tim Hales Shredathon 2010 was on saturday in Wanaka. Well at Wanaka skate park. The purpose being to remember a legendary NZ bmxer. I never did meet Tim but some legit dudes like Louis and Zombie Mike rep him hard, so he must of been a deece dude. And also to raise money for Wanaka Skate park extensions. Witch is a great reason to load up 3 car loads of BROS from CHCH and heap down to the beutiful southern lakes district.

The jam was run by TRUBMX james keane. He had done a sick job. The weather was against us with some fully shit wind and rain clouds surrounding the area. But that aside the day was completely successful! The riding was on point and everyone BROed DOWN hard during the day which everyone knows is by far the best part of jams.

Dr. Bz got some loteks for being the nuggetest of all the people doing airs. Louis from Cromwell was doing some kool tricks and won the prizes for wining. I won the most revolting canary yellow hoodie for, I guess for doing good lines in the bowl or something. But who cares bout that.

What I was most amped on was the grom quality and quantity. Lil shits fucking flying round the bowl boosting hips, getting flat and looking smooth. Perfect. Im pretty sure not one of then took a hand or a foot off. Good change from the DewTour mentality. Seeing these dudes hitting transfers that not even the older division where doing was awesome to see.

JV from Dunedin won a pink fly frame for being good on a bike and Monty, a Wanaka local got some product for getting jiggy in the bowl and looking good.

The after party was as any bmx jam event should be. Morally questionable and entertaining. Ill leave it at that.
